Who is Crowsnest Zone?
We are part of a nationwide group of volunteers that are dedicated to the promotion of safety in outdoor activities. Crowsnest Zone is located in Fernie, in Southeastern B.C. We are comprised of a group of individuals from all areas of life, We have members from all over the country, not to mention the world. Each of the members of Crowsnest Zone have their own strengths and we are proud to have members that are experienced in all aspects of life. We are Students, Medical Personnel, Tradespeople, Government Employees, teachers, and retiree's; just to name a few. Each member of Crowsnest Zone is dedicated to help make Fernie Alpine Resort a safe outdoor playground.
The CSPS Crowsnest Zone is managed and operated by the Fernie Volunteer Ski Patrol Society of Fernie BC, a non-profit Society registered in the province of British Columbia.
Along with promoting safe skiing and boarding we are also involved in many events throughout the community. Some recent local events would be:
- The Fernie World Cup Freestyle
- Taste of Fernie
- Warren Miller Film & Ski Festival
- Transrockies Mountain Bike Race
- Canada Cup Mountain Bike Race
- And many more...
Of course there are many events across Canada that you as a member can go and participate in. Throughout the summer we are involved in events also, and there are always new opportunities coming up.
